Gospel Dream 2005 Kicks off in Atlanta
Over 200 spiritual star hopefuls lined up to participate in Gospel Dream 2005s first audition, which was held last Friday and Saturday in Atlanta.
Dubbed gospel musics premier talent search, Gospel Dream 2005 features contestants anywhere from 15-60 years old performing a variety of gospel music styles, including soul, traditional, rock, pop, country, hip-hop, and blues, in competition for a premier recording contract.
A panel of five judges that includes platinum recording artist Kelly Price, writer/music critic Andy Argyrakis, Zomba Label Group president Max Siegel, and two regional radio personalities, evaluates each audition. Hosting each show will be comedian Jonathan Slocumb.
If you are a singer who only knows how to have church, this is not the show for you, said Slocumb.
Twenty-one recording star hopefuls will be chosen from regional auditions to compete in the national finals in Atlanta, which will air on the Gospel Music Channel Nov. 30 (semi-finals) and Dec. 1 (finale).
The next audition will be held in Dallas from August 19-20.
