'Grey's Anatomy' Season 12 News, Spoilers: Meredith Panics; Catherine Returns

The next episode of ABC's long-running medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" will see Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) freaking out after taking the next step in her relationship with Will (Scott Elrod) and Catherine (Debbie Allen) arriving in the middle of April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson's (Jesse Williams) fighting.

In this Thursday's episode, titled "When It Hurts So Bad," Mer will finally agree to go out on a date with her new suitor, Dr. Thorpe. However, despite her bold move, Mer proves unable to cope with opening herself up to another man when she unwisely ends up spending the night with Will and suffers a panic attack the next morning.

In the new teaser for the next episode, Will is shown asking Meredith for a kiss at the end of their date. The kiss leads to the two spending the night together in Meredith's bed, which is where things go horribly wrong the following day.

In the morning, a panicked Meredith throws a naked Will out of her bedroom. Her housemates, Maggie (Kelly McCreary) and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone), awakened by her screaming, rush to her side and question the embarrassed Will.

"Why is she screaming?" Maggie asks Will. "What did you do?"

Meanwhile, in the same episode, Jackson's mother and Weber's (James Pickens, Jr.) former fiancee, Catherine, returns to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, where she finds April and Jackson in the middle of their ongoing fight about their unborn child. In the previous episode, Jackson told April that he wants to raise their child together, but April insisted that she will go through the pregnancy without him. According to the synopsis for the next episode, Catherine will "shake things up" with the couple.

"When It Hurts So Bad" will also see Amelia reconsidering her relationship with Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Maggie sensing that Andrew (Giacomo Gianniotti) is pulling away.

"Grey's Anatomy" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
