'Grey's Anatomy' Season 12 Spoilers: Meredith Still Coming To Terms With Husband's Death
The midseason finale of "Grey's Anatomy" left fans wondering what's next for the medical crew, but Shonda Rhimes has some good news to ease the appetite of those who can't wait for the season's continuation.
Before going on a hiatus for the holiday season, Alex (Justin Chambers) proposed to Jo (Camilla Luddington) and it is rumored that the first episode of season 12 part 2 will reveal Jo's response.
Also, some friends got into some conflicts including Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) who exchanged emotional words with Amelia (Caterina Scorsone), and a rather physical battle between Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Riggs (Martin Henderson) took place. Fans discovered that the physicality between Owen and the newcomer was ignited because of Owen's family.

It is expected that more details about the issue between Owen and Rigss will be tackled in episode 9 of season 12.
Meanwhile, the show's executive producer, Rhimes, told Entertainment Weekly that Meredith's evolution will further be depicted in the upcoming episodes and fans will have to watch out what path she will be choosing and if she will realize the changes she made for herself ever since her husband died.
Fans know that Amelia and Meredith have been struggling together, especially when Derek (Patrick Dempsey) died. It's obvious that the two won't get along just yet and they aren't even done grieving their loss, Meredith being the wife and Amelia being the sister. It seems Mer's "evolution" is adding more fuel to the fire between her and Amelia.
Also, Rhimes hinted that episode 9 may not be so emotionally inclined just as the midseason finale. "We've been having a blast [on set]. The first episode that comes back is extraordinary and very, very powerful," she explained.
This only means that fans will see a lighter approach after the holiday hiatus, which is best for the show since people have freshly come out of the giving and loving season and would prefer a more positive episode for a starter.
