'Grey's Anatomy' Season 12 Spoilers: Meredith Under Attack
A shocking tragedy is expected to take place in the upcoming episode of "Grey's Anatomy."
It was revealed that Meredith will be attacked in the midseason premiere of "Grey's Anatomy" season 12. A trailer was recently released for the series that featured Ellen Pompeo's Meredith bloody and unable to breathe.
Apparently, Meredith was attacked by someone. During the Television Critics Association Panel, one of the "Grey's Anatomy" stars, Kelly McCreary, who plays the role of Maggie, shared some details about the attack. According to Entertainment Weekly, she said, "Meredith gets attacked by someone you would least expect and it is just as terrifying, shocking and harrowing as it appears."

In addition, it seems as though Amelia, played by Caterina Scorsone, will also be struggling when she learns about what happened to Meredith. Scorsone shared, "Amelia always holds herself extremely responsible for the [misfortune] of others. In this case especially, she feels somehow responsible, even though she's really not. She often takes it all very personally when someone she's close to is hurt. When we come back, Amelia is at a very, very low point."
The series will return with Amelia in a vulnerable position since the midseason finale ended with her argument with Meredith. Nevertheless, she will still feel concerned toward Meredith despite what happened in the midseason finale.
The fact that Amelia is distraught at the thought of Meredith's accident caused some suspicion on who exactly was responsible for the attack. Fans are speculating that Owen, played by Kevin McKidd, was the one who attacked her. This would explain Amelia's concern toward the matter since she was dating Owen. He also had a history of violence as seen in the earlier seasons of the series.
"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 will return on ABC this Feb. 11.
