'Hannibal' Season 4 News: May Potentially Move Forward, Hugh Dancy on Board for Another Round

It's been months already since American psychological thriller-horror TV series "Hannibal" left the small screen, leaving the fans with only a total of three seasons. But somehow, even though NBC has already closed the show, many are hoping that it would re-open and do one more season.

Fortunately, the fans are not alone as "Hannibal" star Hugh Dancy himself is hoping for a season 4 of the show. Dancy played as the gifted criminal profiler Will Graham. Right now, he is working on a new project and will play as a cult leader in the upcoming Hulu series titled "The Path." Even though he has been busy promoting his new show, he was still glad to talk about "Hannibal" and what it could have been if they have moved forward to season 4.

Collider caught up with him during a panel at the Television Critics Association wherein he shared some information on what show creator Bryan Fuller has in mind for the potential continuation of the story.

"Bryan [Fuller] pitched it to me …well, he, described to me in an overview with what he wanted to do with the 4th season, had there been an interest, and it was really fantastic," stated Dancy.

He also divulged that the fourth season would have hypothetically gone back to the events of the first season. He described Fuller's idea as "complete restart" because maybe in the future, they would be able to make it happen.

Christian Today also detailed that Dancy had spoken about the fourth season being inspired by the details from the book. It would still put the spotlight on Will Graham and not go into the series where Clarice is introduced. The reason for such is while the production doesn't have the rights to the "Silence of the Lambs" book, the "Red Dragon" book is another matter as they do have the rights to that one.

Slash Film noted that even though there have been talks about a potential season 4, fans should not keep their hopes up too high as there are no concrete offers.
