Hasbro to Introduce Female Transformers (VIDEO)
Bowing to clamors from fans, Hasbro is diversifying with a new set of female Transformers first seen in the "Transformers: Combine Hunters" comic book series.
Victorion, the new female Transformers team, will be inducted into the Transformers universe by July this year, as a result of a poll from fans, who requested for a diversity in gender.
Victorion, a distinctly female Transformers, first featured in the comic book series, "Transformers: Combine Hunters," is made up of six different as yet unnamed Autobots that combine into the final figure, each with unique skills, personalities, and even faults.

While Transformers are a mechanical species and considered genderless, there have been characters identifying as female, such as Chromia, Firestar, and Moonracer who made their appearance in the original Transformers cartoon series in 1985.
Hasbro Transformers Toys Senior, Manager Sarah Carroll told USA Today that these Autobots aren't totally good, and have traits in their personalities they are still attempting to overcome, making them appear like actual people with a drive to better themselves.
The new team of female Autobots represents Hasbros' step forward in their toy, movie, and comic book franchise, and despite there having been female Transformers in the series, it has always been considered a male-dominated line in the comic books, toys, movies, and TV shows.
Hasbro's accommodating the requests of their growing female audience has been seen in a positive light, even more so after the multinational toy company created a contest inviting fans to become more involved in the female Transformers creation process.
According to Carroll, female fans have put forward their desire to become part of the Transformers story, and now they are represented in the Transformers franchise in a major role.
Victorion is the most recent female team of Autobots to join Transformers, following their predecessors, Solus Prime, Arcee, and newcomers Strongarm and Windblade, the latter being a result of a 2013 fan-driven process.
