'Homeland' Season 4 Premiere Set: Poster and Trailer Released (TRAILER VIDEO)

Showtime's hit series "Homeland" returns for its fourth season in October; a premiere date, new trailer, and poster have all been released to appease fans until then. There are also a few key facts that fans may or may not already know that are coming in the upcoming season.

First, Carrie will be stationed abroad in Pakistan and, for the first time, be without her beloved Brody, who met a fatal end during the Season 3 finale. This will put her in one of the most dangerous countries in the world, according to the show, and she will certainly be put to the test while abroad. Laila Robins has joined the cast as Martha Boyd, the U.S. Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, while Corey Stoll will be a guest star as Sandy Bachman, the CIA Chief of Station in Pakistan.

Second, Carrie will be dealing with the birth of her daughter, whom she conceived with Brody. No one knew what she would choose to do once learning of the pregnancy, and once Brody was hanged, things became entirely unclear. Would she choose the job and take her daughter with her or leave the baby girl in the care of her family? That, of course, leads to another problem for the show's producers.

In addition to lead star Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin will also return four the new series. His character will take on a much different role than before, and he will be joined by Rupert Friend, who played Peter Quinn.

There is sure to be plenty of adventure and excitement as the new season begins, and fans have been promised that this season is almost like a "pilot" season with all of the changes set to take place.
