'Homeland' Season 5 Spoilers, Plot News: Carrie, Saul Eager To Speak With Quinn

This Sunday, Dec. 13, Showtime's hit political drama TV series "Homeland" Season 5 returns with yet another intense and suspenseful episode that will see Carrie Mathison (Clare Danes) in a very difficult situation. Meanwhile, a new promo trailer reveals Carrie and Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) are more than too eager to hear what Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend) has to say.

In the last episode of the series, fans saw Carrie working with her former boss, Saul, to track down Quinn. When they found him, the hitman was barely hanging on for his life. Now that he's already in their hands, it is of utmost importance for Saul and Carrie to know where the terrorists plan to release the sarin gas.

In a sneak peek released by the network, the ex-CIA officer and the head of the European operations can be seen talking to a doctor. The latter explained that despite the patient's exposure to the chemicals, he was still alive due to the atropine in his system.

Saul inquired as to when they could see Quinn somewhat recovered and back on his feet again. The doctor seemed enraged seeing the two disregarding the man's condition.

"Reasonably? He's in respiratory failure due to acute hypoxia," the physician exclaimed.

Saul explained that it's critical for the patient to gain consciousness as there's a threat of a terrorist attack in the city which is expected to occur in less than six hours.

"He may have vital information that could stop that from happening," the elderly persisted.

Yet in another teaser from Showtime, it appears that Carrie will have to do what must be done. Without a doubt, she is concerned with the welfare of her ex-lover. But on the other side, she can't wait that long for Quinn to wake up to reveal what he knows about the chemical attack which can result to mass casualties.

In the clip, it appears that Carrie will be taking the risk and will wake up the comatose person. Quinn wakes up but it looks like he won't be in a condition to carry on.

"Homeland" Season 5 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on Showtime.
