'Housewives' Kyle Richards Defends Mauricio After Brandi Glanville Attack (VIDEO)
"Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Kyle Richards has defended her husband of 17 years Mauricio Umansky after he lambasted their co-star Brandi Glanville during a recent episode.
During Monday night's episode, 10 viewers of the hit Bravo TV show watched the group engage in a heated discussion over Glanville's feud with their fellow co-stars Adrienne Maloof and Paul Nassif. Umansky, 47, quickly became enraged and blasted the single Mom while siding with the absent couple, which Richards, 44, described as being a "natural reaction," according to her Bravo TV blog.
"I have NEVER seen Mauricio like we all saw him in last night's episode. He is always the calm one in any situation. However, he felt strongly about the subject matter," Richards wrote in her Jan. 15 blog.

"Adrienne and Paul stopped socializing with the group after what Brandi said. Mauricio and Paul are good friends and he was hearing from Paul the pain that they were going through," she went on. "Mauricio felt that a phone call would benefit Paul, Adrienne, AND Brandi. That is how he deals with problems – directly."
In a previous episode Glanville, 39, reportedly exposed a personal secret about Maloof and Nassif, who are now divorced. The mother of two revealed that as a result Maloof, a socialite born in to the prominent and wealthy Maloof family, was suing her, and Umansky demanded that Glanville call the pair and apologize.
Eventually Glanville's close friends and co-stars Lisa Vanderpump and her husband Ken Todd stepped in to defend the former model after Umansky's grilling reduced her to tears. As a result, Todd and Umansky also began to argue.
"Lisa and Ken were no longer friends with Adrienne and Paul and Mauricio was not friends with Brandi. It's natural they would each want to protect the people that they are friends with," Richards wrote.
"It was upsetting on so many levels. I wanted Mauricio and Ken to stop because they are also friends and usually the voice of reason when we are having problems," she added.
Richards has been heavily criticized by viewers on the show, with some accusing the twice-married mother of four of deliberately stirring the pot in an attempt to upset Glanville. During a prior episode, Richards' best friend Faye Resnick also lambasted Glanville during a dinner event and just like Umansky, her words reduced Glanville to tears.
A number of critics including Richards' co-stars have even accused her of using others to speak on her behalf, which she recently denied.
"I have never needed a mouthpiece. I have always been one to be honest," Richards wrote in a recent blog post. "I told Brandi how I felt about what she said right away. I have NEVER needed anyone to speak on my behalf."
