HTC One Review: The Best High-End Android Device?
The HTC One smartphone has been out for quite some and is ranked as one of the finest Android devices currently available on the market.
Its biggest competitor at this time is the Samsung Galaxy S4 which has its advantages, but the HTC One still packs a serious punch when it comes to hardware. There are certain things this phone can do that others can't and its abilities come in handy in the entertainment department. The Christian Post recently had the opportunity to test out the device courtesy of AT&T and here's what we thought.

The HTC One currently has the title for display with the highest pixel density. It features a Super LCD3 capacitive touchscreen that provides 1080p Full HD picture. It's screen size is preferable to the Galaxy S4. The colors are vibrant and details are highlighted when in Full HD mode. Its smaller size also allows it to perform at a higher level. The Beats Audio-powered speakers also don't hurt while adding to the entertainment value of the phone.
Sound
HTC and Dr. Dre knocked it out of the park with this one. Other devices run Beats Audio, but the HTC One is by far one of the best and clearest at it. Watching videos or playing games literally have a surround sound feel and the volume can be raised to extremely high levels. It almost eliminates the need for a dock or pill.
Design
The HTC One's metal unibody design is second to none. Aesthetically the device impresses with a solid build and perfect speaker placement so when you place the phone flat on its back you do not lose sound. The irremovable battery and special slot for the SIM could be a little annoying, but the choices the company made put the device's look ahead of Samsung.
Software
This is where the HTC One begins to fall short. The software is a little strange. The Sense-based system uses weird inputs to access certain tasks. In order to pull up the task manager you must tap the home button twice-- something I had to look up online to discover. The Blinkfeed home screen is interesting and looks good, but I found it to be pretty useless. Other users complained about similar issues, and Samsung definitely does a better job in this department.
Camera
The HTC One camera was like any other point-and-shooter to me, but I'm no photographer. Those who indulge in light photography seemed to give it rave reviews. It wasn't far off from the Galaxy S4's camera. One advantage the HTC One has is that it does a better job in capturing light in pictures.
Conclusion
The HTC One is arguably the finest Android device in the market at this time. Some of the new features such as Smart Scroll and other Eye tracking on the Galaxy S4 make that device preferable, but for those looking for a premium Android experience, the HTC One might be the better buy.
The smartphone doesn't get the shines it deserves due to less than aggressive marketing, though. I definitely recommend this phone to iPhone users looking to switch to Android as the screen is not as big as the S4, and the design is far from cheap and plastic. It's easier to hold and makes for an all around better phone experience.
