HTC One X to Rival the Nexus and Galaxy Line of Smartphones

The new HTC One X smartphone is the company's answer to the high-end Nexus and Galaxy lines created by Samsung and Google, and vital for HTC's survival in the industry.

"The One brand is so important for HTC's future," said Jason Mackenzie, head of global sales and marketing for HTC, in a recent interview with CNET. "We're treating it special."

The company takes its new One line quite seriously- that also includes the One V and One S with the quad-core, Ice Cream Sandwich powered One X at the helm.

HTC hopes to create a name with the One series, the same way Samsung has done so with its Galaxy line and Nexus line through a partnership with Google.

After a year of falling sales and profits, the smartphone maker created the One series to represent a more focused attempt at giving the market a high-end quality product.

HTC wants the One name to resonate with customers and catch on the in the same fashion as the Galaxy S line has, becoming the flagship device for the company. And this is a wise choice, according to industry analyst Ross Robin.

"Certainly in terms of volumes, HTC would want to aspire to the Galaxy brand rather than the Nexus one," he said to CNET.

And even with the recent announcement of the Evo 4G LTE, HTC promises that the One X series will play a large role in all parts of the world including the U.S.

One other fact that seems to stand out is that premium smartphones such as the Galaxy S line and Apple's iPhone only launch on a yearly basis. It would be wise for HTC to treat its new One series in the same manner.
