Hugh Jackman Celebrates Christmas in Church With Family

Hugh Jackman has started his Christmas celebration with his family in a Manhattan church.

The Daily Mail reported that the 43-year-old actor, his wife of 16-years Deborra-Lee Furniss, and his children Oscar,11, and Ava, six, began their holiday in church. The publication showcased photographs of the family, with Jackman carrying Ava on his shoulders after leaving their house of worship.

After attending church services, Jackman played football in a park with his family. The Daily Mail published photographs of the father playfully tackling his daughter during the game and smiling with Furniss, 56.

Fans of the actor who did not get to catch a glimpse of Jackman Christmas day got to see him perform live that evening. Jackman has been performing in a one-man show called, “Hugh Jackman- Back on Broadway” since November.

Some fans of Jackman who saw the show spoke about their experiences on Twitter. One called Jackman, “extraordinary,” after spending Christmas watching the Tony and Emmy award winner perform on Broadway.

“Just saw Hugh Jackman on Broadway," one fan tweeted. "His talent is extraordinary! So moving and wonderful! Magical Christmas!"

While performing on Broadway, Jackman teamed up with Broadway Cares, an organization in the theater industry that helps raise funding and awareness to the fight against HIV and AIDS. Once the actor helped the organization raise one million dollars earlier this month, he tweeted his thanks to fans who helped make it possible.

“We passed the one million mark for funds raised for Broadway Cares," Jackman tweeted. "Thanks to all who have participated."

The actor also took to his Twitter to show appreciation for fans who he met while performing in his current Broadway show.

“It's been great seeing some of you guys backstage after my shows. I am having such a great time on broadway," the actor tweeted.

Jackman will perform in his current “Back to Broadway” musical until Jan 1.
