Hugh Jackman Talks Wife and Secret to 20 Years of Marriage
Despite his busy schedule and the demands of being a Hollywood superstar, Hugh Jackman never falls short of providing a good life to his wife as he recently shared with the public what kept his marriage intact for the past 20 years.
According to E! News, Jackman told the Australian news outlet Sunrise that one of his life's slogans is: "Happy wife, happy life." Indeed, Jackman's marriage to Deborra-Lee Furness has remained strong over the years as he further noted that the said quote is the most important one in his life. "We're about to celebrate our 20th," the "Wolverine" star added.
In one of his appearances on Ellen DeGeneres' talk show earlier this year, Jackman also talked about his wife's contributions to the good life he lives. "She's the best thing that ever happened to me," he said.
All throughout the discussion about his marriage he was smiling as he talked about how he met Furness back when he was just starting as an actor and his wife was the star of the Australian crime drama series "Correlli."
Just like other actors and actresses, Jackman had a "major" crush on the woman who would later become his wife. He said the entire crew had a crush on Furness, which made him hesitate to tell her about his true feelings for an entire week. When he finally decided to tell her that he liked her, it turned out that Furness, who is over 10 years older than Jackman, had a crush on the newbie too.
Finally, April of 1996, the Furness said "I Do" and 20 years later, the couple are still happy, sweet, and have two kids, Oscar, 15, and Ava, 10.
On Wednesday, the couple touched down in Sydney and some paparazzi took snaps of the two as they walked through the airport. According to The Daily Mail, they appeared to be "intense" at first as they talked but it didn't take long for the warm atmosphere to sink in as Jackman tenderly cupped Furness' face into his hands. The two also looked happy after the intense conversation, erasing any doubts about their blissful relationship.
