Ice Cream Sandwich Release to Promote Google Plus?

The most significant war in electronics seems to be based on what ecosystem a consumer decides to enter, and Google has just taken the next step to solidify in enlarging its own.

Google Music, a service similar to iTunes, was reintroduced earlier this week and can be accessed through the Android market on all Android devices.

Ice Cream Sandwich will play a major role in launching the new service, because all users of the software will be prompted to enter payment credentials like debit or credit card numbers before downloading.

Once the information is entered, Android users are just one click away from downloading any song from the service.

The temptation seems higher when the process is made faster and easier, according to technology website 9to5 Google.

Not only will the Google Music service receive a boost with Ice Cream Sandwich, but Google Plus, the company’s very own social networking website, will as well.

Anyone who owns a device running the operating system, and enters their account credentials, will be prompted to sign up for Google Plus.

Google Wallet will also make buying media in the company’s ecosystem even simpler.

“But, as Wallet now gets integrated with Checkout and Music gets its own place in Android Market, an integrated Google ecosystem is steadily forming before our own eyes,” said 9to5 Google.

The website also added that the more involved a consumer gets with a company’s ecosystem, the harder it is to break away from it, listing Apple as having “stickiest platform out there.”

With its “I” branding, Apple has created a universe with various products and services, including: iPod, iPhone, iMac, iPad and iTunes.
