'Injustice 2' Patch News: Game Gets New Patch After Previous One Deleted Players' Items
"Injustice 2" developer NetherRealm has released a new patch for the fighting game to address the issued brought in by the previous patch. The recently released version 1.10 update accidentally deleted players' items causing problems for many players. While a fix has been released, some issues still abound.
In a Twitter post, the developer confirmed that a patch is now available for both PlayStation and Xbox users to address the deletion of Gear. Following the release of 1.10 on Sept. 26, players who updated the game lost their shaders, virtual currency, and Gear they had unlocked.
Gear is particularly valuable for players as it allows players to change their character stats. The Gear System is a relatively new addition to the game which was developed from the personalization, character creation, loot, and leveling up system incorporated into "Injustice 2."
The new update prevents item deletion from happening however, it does not restore items that were lost due to the previous patch much to players' dismay. NetherRealms has recommended that players reboot the game to try and recover any Gear that was acquired prior to patch 1.10. The process has brought some items back although this isn't the case for everyone.
There is currently no word from the developer if they have any plans to reimburse players who have lost items due to the patch. There is a chance they will do so though, as grinding for Gears is not easy and unless NetherRealms want tons of irate players, a form of restitution is in order. Even a simple loot box giveaway could be enough to placate their disappointment.
In other news, the second character pack for "Injustice 2" features three new additions to the fighting game. Black Manta, Hellboy, and Raiden are joining the already rowdy bunch for some superhero-supervillain super-brawl.
