iPad 3 Concept Video Portrays Tablet Without Home Button (VIDEO)

A new concept video for the upcoming iPad 3 has made its way to the internet and portrays a device without any home button with the display extending from edge to edge.

This concept was created by Aatma Studio, which posted the video earlier this week.

"Aatma Studio just posted thids iPad 3 concept," wrote tech site 9to5Mac regarding the concept. "However, by the looks of it, we might have to wait for the iPad 5 for most of these features."

Other features that appear in the video include near field communications and internal magnets that allow the tablet to link up side by side with another and work together to form a larger screen. This can be viewed more clearly by watching the video.

Aatma has created similar concepts to this for the iPhone 5.

This new concept arrived on the scene shortly after tech sites confirmed that Apple was sending out invitations for the unveiling of the iPad 3.

The device is set to make its debut on March 7 at a media event taking place in San Francisco. 9to5Mac will be providing live coverage during the unveiling.

A March 7 unveiling will probably lead to an official launch the following week.

Rumored specifications for the iPad 3 include a newly designed retina display, an A6 quad-core chip and 4G LTE. If it turns out to work on LTE networks it will end up becoming Apple's first official 4G device.

The March 7 release date for the iPad 3 has been an ongoing rumor for the past few weeks and now has been confirmed by the company to be the actual drop date. Publications such as Bloomberg first reported that consumers would see the iPad 3 in the early part of 2012 in January.
