The rumored specs for the new device have also been making headlines recently.

Here are some of the top specs to be expected from the iPad 3.

Better Camera

The iPad 2 currently sports a camera, but unfortunately it does not have a built-in-flash. The next iPad should include a camera that includes a flash, according to the latest rumors.

Faster Processor

The iPad 3 is expected to sport one of the first quad-core processors, which will likely be the “A6,” which some analysts feel will not be available until June 2012.

HDMI Port

The new iPad is rumored to include a new HDMI port which will not require any extra adapters or components in order to hook it up to a high-def television.

Smaller Model

Most electronics companies are now offering tablets with smaller screens in order to provide customers with a cheaper alternative, and a device which is more portable. Apple is rumored to be releasing the iPad Mini, which could be a smaller version of the iPad 3.

Retina Display

Apple is also rumored to be planning to release the iPad 3 with a retina display which will have a resolution of 2058x1536 pixels.

Apple will most likely unveil its next generation iPad sometime next year.

The iPad currently dominates the tablet market.

Thanks to Steve Jobs and his innovations, the device was able to enjoy much success, while other companies just cannot seem to have the same impact with their tablets.
