iPhone 5 Release Date: iPhone 4S's Siri Voice Feature Gets Glowing Reviews (VIDEO)
Apple's "iPhone 4S" smartphone model is getting rave reviews from bloggers and industry analysts for its innovative "Siri" voice recognition feature.
The newly released "iPhone 4S" launched for pre-orders last Friday. The 16 GB version reportedly sold over 1 million pre-orders in a single day, breaking the record of 600,000 set by iPhone 4. The 32 and 64 GB versions have since sold out at four websites and are now only available at Sprint.
Philip Schiller, senior vice president of worldwide product marketing at Apple said, "The first day pre-orders for iPhone 4S have been the most for any new product that Apple has ever launched and we are thrilled that customers love iPhone 4S as much as we do."

The most prominent and revered feature for the "iPhone 4S" is its "Siri" voice recognition capabilities. This new feature allows users to control their smartphone by talking directly to them. "Siri" is able to recognize much more natural phrases, unlike the "iPhone 4's" prior voice control system.
Users who use "Siri" will have to hold down the home button for a few seconds in order for it to launch. Once it's up and running, users can tell their smartphone to make phone calls, send text messages or e-mail, schedule meetings and reminders, make notes, search the Internet, find local businesses and get directions. Users can also get answers, find facts and even perform complex calculations just by asking their smartphone.
Several reviews have come in for this feature already and they all seem to be positive.
Bloomberg's Rich Jaroslovsky said "Siri" is "vastly better" than other rival phones with voice commands.
The New York Times reviewer David Pogue feels "Siri" is "crazy good, transformative, category-redefining speech recognition."
Walt Mossberg of The Wall Street Journal said, "The iPhone 4S is one of Apple’s less dramatic updates, but, when combined with the Siri, iOS 5 and iCloud features, it presents an attractive new offering to smartphone users."
