iPhone 5 Release Date on T-Mobile: Network Says It Will Not Respond to Rumors
Following reports that a T-Mobile executive has disclosed the iPhone 5 would not launch on the network in 2011, the carrier has responded, stating that it is not entertaining rumors.
“We don’t comment on rumors. We remain focused on expanding our portfolio of 4G smartphones," T-Mobile told the InformationWeek.
Previously, TmoNews reported that the transcript of a T-Mobile internal Town Hall meeting had been uncovered, reportedly quoting Chief Marketing Officer Cole Brodman as saying, "We are not going to get the iPhone 5 this year.”

Several rumors have heightened, including commentators speculating that the T-Mobile iPhone 5 could be released any time after December 31 and that T-Mobile may not release the iPhone 5, but rather the iPhone 4S, the proposed low cost version of the current iPhone generation.
In their statement, T-Mobile also confirmed that they would soon be announcing their latest products.
"We look forward to sharing on Monday news about our latest and greatest product lineup,” T-Mobile said to IW.
Apple is expected to host a conference on October 4 where new CEO Tim Cook will finally divulge the release date of the iPhone 5; most rumors about the smartphone will most likely be confirmed or denied at the conference.
Other rumors also say that the iPhone 5 will not be released at all until 2012 due to production delays.
Currently, the iPhone 5 is expected to have various specs such as an iOS 5 upgrade, possible 4G capabilities and a high-resolution 8MP camera.
It is rumored that the Sprint network will also be carrying the iPhone 5.
Recently, it has been reported that Sprint has raised its smartphone termination fee to $350 and decreased its return window policy from 30 days to 14 days.
Many speculate that these changes have been made in preparation for the iPhone 5.
