iPhone 7 Predictions and News: Analyst Kuo Predicts Sales Drop by 18 Percent
In what could be one of the most alarming predictions ever made by prominent analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, it is said that Apple might see a huge sales drop with the release of the next iPhone set.
Kuo is not only a renowned Apple products tipster but consumers and fans around the world have seen most of his predictions over the past year happen. According to iDigital Times, the KGI Securities market analyst warns that the iPhone 7 won't really turn the tide on the declining status that the tech giant is suffering.
In a graph provided by Kuo, he suggests that in worst case scenarios, Apple's sales could eventually see an 18 percent drop, despite the iPhone 7's arrival this fall. While the next flagship is rumored to feature OLED display and possibly a new dual-camera setup, Kuo thinks the new specs might not be enough to change the declining course that the company has recently started to see.

It's not only Kuo who believes Apple will see a significant plunge in sales this year. According to CNET, analysts for the gadget giant see a much more significant drop compared to the nearly 20 percent they perceived during the second quarter last year. They also note that there has been a mixed reaction among consumers when the iPhone 6 and 6s was released last year.
T. Michael Walkley of Canaccord Genuity said, "Given the similar form factor for the iPhone 6s and softer smartphone global demand trends, we anticipate down year-over-year iPhone sales for the remainder of [fiscal] 2016."
Aside from the comments from critics regarding the anticipated plummeting of iPhone sales, the outlet also says the concerns for Apple's revenue in general has increased as it slowly becomes apparent that fewer people are interested in the smartphones. Over two-thirds of the company's sales are derived from the iPhone and a drop in smartphone figures means negative results in overall computations.
Amid all the rumors and negative predictions, Apple has decided to cut the price of its iPhone lineup in Japan. According to 9to5mac, the devices with an approximate cut of 10 percent include the iPhone SE and the iPhone 6s Plus.
