Its The 'Long Way Home' For Ginny Owens On Oct. 11
Singer/songwriter Ginny Owens will be releasing her fourth studio album, Long Way Home on October 11th. The albums first single, Fellow Traveler, goes for adds at AC/INSP/CHR on Sept. 2.
Featuring 10 original tracks, Long Way Home sees Owens on the production end for the first time, with the artist serving as co-producer alongside Monroe Jones (Third Day, Chris Rice), Will Hunt (Shane and Shane, Ryan Cabrera) and Vince Emmett (Paul Colman, Rebecca St. James.)
We made music in Los Angeles, Austin, Nashville and New York for Long Way Home, said Owens. The tracks are as diverse as the cities themselves, and the recording process was unlike any Ive ever known. Venturing into the world of production was a wonderfully challenging experience, just as playing in the studio with my band from the road was an absolute joy. Ive laughed; Ive cried; Ive learned much; and Ive grown as an artist and writer because of it all. The songs on this project are my attempts at sharing a bit of what Ive learned about life, over the course of my journey here on this planet. I hope and pray they will be a source of encouragement and peace to those who listen.
Don Donahue, president of Rocketown Records said, Ginny Owens is unquestionably one of Christian musics most insightful songwriters, and with Long Way Home, she sets the bar even higher. This project is loaded with great melodies, profound truth and hooks that are bound to please radio programmers and listeners alike. But even more importantly, its full of heart, a passionate and authentic expression coming from an immensely talented woman who I am privileged to call my friend.
In addition to radio and retail promotion, Owens fall Street Week will be marked by the build of a Habitat for Humanity house in New Orleans, which the artist is funding through her own non-profit foundation, the Fingerprint Initiative (www.fingerprintinitiative.org).
Launching the Fingerprint Initiative has been one of my most favorite endeavors to date, comments Owens. I consider it a gift to step outside the music realm into an everyday world where Im called to love and serve others.
Owens, who has participated in several Habitat builds, will be on site during the week to assist with the project, which will go to benefit the Gaines family of seven from Tammany, La.
