James Franco- My Movie 'Sucks': Actor Bashes 'Your Highness,' Director Responds
June 2013 GQ front cover scorer, James Franco, admits that his movie, "Your Highness," was terrible. Justin Lin, who directed the movie, responded, saying the cast "worked hard to make [Franco] look good."
The unabashedly honest actor revealed a lot about his personality and talked openly about his career in the magazine's upcoming issue, and didn't have good things to say about his lackluster film.
"Your Highness'? That movie sucks. You can't get around that," he told GQ.

It seems most of the world agrees, with the film starring Franco, Natalie Portman and Danny McBride scoring a 26 percent out of 100 on RottenTomatoes.com.
Franco also said his 2006 film, "Annapolis" was "bad" and he, "ended up not liking the experience and not liking the movie."
Justin Lin, creator of the movie, contacted the Huffington Post to respond to Franco's comments.
"I wish James could keep it to himself because I don't know the point. We make movies and we all try our best and sometimes we connect with the audience, sometimes we don't. And I can tell you for a fact: A lot of people worked very, very hard to make him look good," he explained. "Whether we succeeded or not? You know, that's subjective. There are people who like that film -- the film did well in home video -- the reviews are maybe not what we had hoped for. But it was also a genre that's very hard to make."
The star is in one of the biggest movies this year, "Spring Breakers," and isn't afraid to say how he feels.
"My public persona is something that is only partially constructed by me, so if people want to mock that, it's fine. I mock it," he said.
A movie of his that Franco loves is "Pineapple Express," which he hopes gets a sequel.
"I don't know what the hold-up is, I would do it, Danny [McBride] would do it, Seth [Rogen] would do it," Franco told GQ.
Some of the 35-year-olds most successful movies are: "Spider-Man," "127 Hours," and "Rise of the Planet of the Apes."
