Jason Lee's Ex-Wife Claims Church of Scientology 'Harassed' Her After Divorce

Actor Jason Lee's ex-wife, model Carmen Llywelyn, has come forward to state that the Church of Scientology harassed her and terrified her after she divorced Lee and left the organization. The Church, in response, has called Llywelyn "pathetic and disturbed."

"The whole Scientology thing has been sort of just this thing that I can't shake off," Llwelyn told Radar Online. "It's really messy."

Lee's ex-wife said that she had never even heard of Scientology until she began dating him in 1994 and became interested in the church after being with him for some time.

"Jason and his friend came to pick me up. His friend … had on one of those clear bracelets that means something for a very high status place you reach [in Scientology]. It was expensive-looking, and I'm like poor, like 'Woah, where did you get that?'" Llywelyn recalled.

She admits that she appreciated Scientology and joined because it "was so rational. There's nothing about it that you end up learning later on."

But after she divorced Lee in 2000, she was labeled a "Suppressive Person" by the church, which tends to not look favorably upon those who leave. Actress Leah Remini has gone public with her own story of leaving the church and how difficult it was, which the church adamantly denies. Llywelyn has allegedly recorded the abuse she has suffered from the church.

"I've been recording my C of $ abuse for years," Llywelyn tweeted. "Don't think I didn't see your facebook in 07 with my pics up talking [expletive]."

She has taken her "case" to Twitter and makes no bones about the fact that she can no longer abide by the rules of Scientology.

"If anyone is considering joining the church of #scientology know this 1st – your confessions in session will be used against you if you leave. Promises of religious sanctity does not exist for apostates in #scientology. Apostates are the tools to intimidate the flock," Llywelyn added.

The Church of Scientology has responded by calling Llywelyn a "pathetic and disturbed person. It goes without saying that, based on her own comments, this source is unreliable, highly biased and appears to be a bit 'off,'" a representative told Radar.

"Ms. Llywelyn's perceptions that she was part of some fictitious, walled-off 'celebrity circle of the hierarchy' and her bizarre conspiracy theory that her 'calling out' a celebrity led to prank phone calls exist only in her own mind," the rep added.
