Jay-Z's 'Glory' Ode to Daughter Blue Ivy

Jay-Z has released a song "Glory" two days after he and Beyonce Knowles welcomed their daughter Blue Ivy.

The power couple announced that they were expecting their first child in August during the MTV Video Music Awards. The baby girl was born in New York City Saturday, Jan. 7.

The famed rapper dedicated "Glory" to his firstborn with the help of The Neptunes on Monday. Also known as Shawn Carter, the 42-year-old posted the song on his official website, Life + Times.

The tribute reveals that Blue Ivy was conceived in Paris, and also that Beyonce had suffered a miscarriage.

"Last time the miscarriage was so tragic / We was afraid you'd disappear / But nah baby you magic," sings Jay-Z of two-day-old Blue Ivy.

Speaking to his daughter, "The most beautiful girl in the world," the rapper notes the death of his father.

The lyric states, "Your grand pop died… of liver failure," as the rapper continues to describe his own father as "a good man."

Also in the song, Jay-Z describes his pride and love for his daughter.

"Baby I paint the sky Blue / My greatest creation was you."

At the end of the tribute, the sound of a baby, likely Blue Ivy, can be heard crying.
