Jenny McCarthy Responds to Criticism Following Sharon Osbourne's Insult
Jenny McCarthy is firing back against critics about her career as well as "The View" after Sharon Osbourne's comments this week.
After her debut on ABC's talk show in September, McCarthy has met criticism in several directions, and rumors even sprouted of the comedian falling flat with audiences.
Making matters worse, Osbourne sounded off on "The View" and the show's founding host, Barbara Walters, but shockingly dismissed co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd and McCarthy.

"This is the situation," Osbourne explained while on "The Arsenio Hall Show" on Wednesday. "The situation is... Barbara: idolize her, divine, she is super-human. I love Barbara Walters. The rest can go f-themselves."
Despite the harsh criticism as well as Osbourne's insult, 41-year-old McCarthy explained she can manage stress because of her storied career.
"I think I haven't gone without criticism since my career started," the former model told Entertainment Tonight at the Moschino Loves Disaronno event in New York City on Wednesday, Nov. 6. "To launch your career as a Playboy playmate… that was my best school to learn how to deal with criticism."
While ABC confirmed that there was "no truth" in the rumors suggesting McCarthy failed to resonate with viewers, the talk show host herself said that nothing can stop her from doing what she loves.
"I've been in this business for 20 years, and I'm a single mom, so to have a full-time job is awesome, but also to do what I love, like, there's nothing better than being your authentic self," McCarthy told ET.
"And since reality television is not real anymore, the best place you can find it is daytime talk," she added. "And I feel like 'The View,' because we're live and we keep it real and very topical, you're going to see some authentic TV, and I feel that brand fits with me."
Furthermore, Walters defended McCarthy earlier this week during an interview with Howard Kurtz of Fox News' "MediaBuzz."
"I think the criticism about her was unfair and it was criticism that had to do with very personal views," the veteran journalist explained, referring to McCarthy's controversial views on vaccinations and autism activism. "I think it was at the root of some of the criticism, it's not a subject that we have discussed on 'The View.'"
