Jeremy Lin News and Updates: Top 5 Teams for Linsanity as Free Agency Looms

Point guard Jeremy Lin may soon be a free agent if he chooses to opt out of his deal with current team Charlotte Hornets. The question is, where is the Linsanity headed next?

Though he may want to stay with the Hornets, the team may not be able to afford him anymore. During a press conference in Taiwan, Lin was asked what his plans are with his basketball career after this season. Though he did not give a hint on where he is headed next, the player made it clear that he would choose a team where he would be happy.

"Of course I am going to consider who is coaching the team, the team's style, the players on the team and their chance of winning, as well as the on-court time I have and if I have a chance to start," Lin said.

This will not be an easy qualification, but here are some of the NBA teams which could potentially get Linsanity on their roster.

1. Houston Rockets

Head coach Mike D'Antoni predicts a great gameplay and coordination with star player James Harden and Lin this time around. When he was part of the Rockets a few years back, he was not really productive working alongside Harden. He ended up getting traded to the Los Angeles Lakers two years ago.

2. Brooklyn Nets

The Nets could prove to be a great destination for Lin since the team needs a player who could play longer on the court. Linsanity was not given enough opportunity when he was still with the Nets to really maximize his potential. Also, Lin could play well alongside Nets stars Marvin Williams, Courtney Lee, Al Jefferson and Nocolas Batum.

3. New York Knicks

Returning to New York can also be possible in the next NBA season for Lin. The Knicks will certainly need the player's pointguard skills and a defensive man when they start next year's basketball season.

4. Chicago Bulls

The Bulls may need a strong player like Lin to makeup for the team's inability to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in eight years

5. San Antonio Spurs

Having Lin in the team will give Tony Parker a backup player he needs for the next NBA season in 2017.
