Johnny Depp, Amber Heard Engage In Rare PDA on Red Carpet
Amber Heard and Johnny Depp remain tight-lipped about their plans to marry, but the couple held each other close on the red carpet in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
In a rare display of affection, Depp gave Heard a kiss on the cheek and walked the red carpet at the premiere of the actress' latest film, "3 Days To Kill," according to the Daily Mail. The couple has been together almost two yearsm and their engagement was first reported last month when Heard was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger.
"It happened on Christmas Eve," a source close to the couple said, according to Celebuzz.
However, Heard did not immediately have an answer for Depp, who is 23 years her senior.
"She turned him down before she said yes," the insider added. "Amber really took her time to make up her mind."
Depp met Heard while filming "The Rum Diaries" in 2009, and they have been dating since Depp's split from Vanessa Paradis two years earlier. In January, Heard was photographed wearing an engagement ring while out and about in Los Angeles.
"The proposal happened a while ago," another source explained, according to Perez Hilton. "She just didn't wear the ring."
Speculation of the relationship between Depp and Heard first arose after the actor allegedly bought her a horse in 2011. Even today, the couple remain silent about their romance, and Heard insisting her personal life be kept from her career.
"It's not a part of my professional life. I want to be an artist. I don't want to be a celebrity," the 27-year-old explained to Flare magazine, presumably referring to 50-year-old Depp.
"You can find pictures of me [online] pumping gas, picking up dry cleaning, walking my dog, but nowhere are you going to find pictures of me hanging around at some nightclub," she added.
Nevertheless, Heard and Depp will combine their personal lives and careers by co-starring once more in the film "London Films," set for premiere later this year.
