Jon 'Bones' Jones Leaning on Scripture Ahead of UFC Fight
Jon "Bones" Jones says he's leaning on his faith as he trains for his upcoming fight against UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier.
In preparation for the UFC 200 fight on July 9, the 28-year-old mixed martial arts fighter, told fans on Instagram that he's focusing on the scripture Psalm 18:33.

"He made my feet like the feet of a deer and set me secure on the heights," the verse states.
Last year, Jones was arrested after fleeing the scene of a hit-and-run accident where he hit a pregnant woman, according to CNN.
Albuquerque police officials reportedly found a marijuana pipe, marijuana and listed "drugs or medication" as a factor contributing to Jones making an illegal turn that caused the accident.
While Jones was stripped of his title, he earned the interim light-heavyweight title against Ovince Saint Preux last April during his first fight in over a year.
In a Facebook message written earlier this year, Jones said he was on a road to redemption that he hoped would inspire other people.
"I'm dedicating my redemption to anyone out there who feels as if they've failed or are currently failing themselves in life. I want you to know that there is still so much greatness inside of you, even if you feel you haven't displayed it yet," he wrote. "Never lose hope or lose sight of your goals/dreams or what you may look like at your true potential. Believe a bright future was meant for you."
During an interview with local news station King5.com back in April, the UFC fighter said: "I feel like I am having a come-to-Jesus moment right now. This is real stuff, and I feel so free talking about it now. A rough beginning doesn't have to mean there is a rough end. I'm ready to be the best me I can be."
The Christian athlete previously apologized to the public for letting his addiction take over his personal and professional life.
Apologizing for his behavior and problems with drugs and alcohol, Jones wrote in a Facebook post last September: "I apologize to those who were affected by my actions in this incident and I am hopeful that I will be given the opportunity to redeem myself in the eyes of the public, my family and friends as well as my supporters. I am not sure what the future holds for me but I plan to continue to do the work needed to be productive and successful in every aspect of my life."
