Jon Hamm Slams Kim Kardashian, Actress Tweets Response
Kim Kardashian responded to Jon Hamm's comments, calling his diatribe "careless" via Twitter Monday.
Kim Kardashian's Jon Hamm response came in reference to the "Mad Men" actor's suggestion that she, Paris Hilton, and others who make money off of "stupidity" should not be rewarded. Kardashian decided to take the high road, showcasing her moneymaking abilities as evidence that she is not "stupid.
"Calling someone who runs their own business, is a part of a successful TV show, produces, writes, designs, and creates, 'stupid,' is in my opinion careless," tweeted the reality show actress.
For Hamm, the issue is not so much that the Kardashians make money, but how they make money, and he was unashamed in telling U.K.'s Elle magazine so.
"Being a f------ idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture. You're rewarded significantly," said Hamm unabashedly. "Whether it's Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated."
Despite Hamm's harsh description of her, Kardashian resisted the urge to return the sentiment in kind. Instead, she told the actor she "respects" him, citing that his path to success may just be different than her own.
"I just heard about the comment Jon Hamm made about me in an interview. I respect Jon and I am a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that not everyone takes the same path in life," tweeted Kardashian. "We're all working hard and we all have to respect one another."
Rob Kardashian, Kim's brother, responded as well to Hamm's insult, but he was far less forgiving than his sister.
"I don't even care what anyone says about my family," Rob told a TMZ videographer. "People are gonna hate, no matter what. … Sad enough, that's the world we live in."
When asked if he knew who Jon Hamm was, Rob answered "no."
