Joy Behar Picked to Host New Show
Television personality Joy Behar has been tapped by Al Gore to host a new primetime show on Current TV this week.
The network announced Monday that the talk show host's new program will begin this September, airing Monday through Thursday at 6 p.m.
Although the HLN series "The Joy Behar Show" was canceled last year, the new show will have the same title and focus on political events, social issues and relevant topics that impact Americans.

Details including the cast, official title and premiere date will be announced this summer.
"Joy Behar is a beloved veteran television personality with her finger on the pulse of what viewers care about," said Current TV chairman and former Vice President Al Gore.
"Millions of Americans tune in daily to hear her take on the issues along with her inimitable style," he continued. "We are honored that Current TV will be Joy's new primetime home."
Filming of the upcoming show will not interrupt her appeared on the popular ABC series "The View." The 69-year-old co-host will remain on the ABC show, marking her 15th year as a staple on the network.
Behar remains a busy and sought-after television personality. She will guest anchor for a week on the "Viewpoint" while regular host and former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer is on vacation. The temporary show will be called "Joy Behar: One Week Only *Until the Fall."
It was reported in March that Keith Olbermann's "Countdown" would be replaced by "Viewpoint" with Spitzer.
In November 2011, Behar married her boyfriend of 29 years, Steve Janowitz. She is one of the original members of "The View" and has also hosted "Larry King Live."
In 2009, Behar and her co-hosts on "The View"- Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd, Barbara Walters, and Elisabeth Hasselbeck- won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host.
