The woman who is claiming Justin Bieber is the father of her child has previously accused her ex-boyfriend of being the father of the 3-month old baby, according to news reports.
Maria Yeater, 20, who is also at risk of statutory rape charges if the allegations regarding Bieber, 17, (who was 16 at the time of the alleged sexual encounter), are true, has apparently accused ex-boyfriend John Terranova of being the father of her baby.
In an interview with the New York Post, Terranova explained why he did not believe he was the father.
"She came back here from California telling me she was pregnant with my child and I said this is impossible, you've been in California two months and back here for only a week," Terranova said.
"After I told her that's not my kid, you've only been here for a week, then she told me, 'No, I got pregnant before I left by you. But it didn't make sense because she had a doctor's note saying she wasn't pregnant enough for that to be possible. It didn't add up."
Nevertheless, Terranova, 19, was not sure, so he went to his grandmother for advice.
"For a second I believed [Yeater], then I went and talked to my grandma who said no sweetie that's not possible so when I went back to her she tried to say she got pregnant before she left," Terranova said.
According to TMZ, Yeater and Terranova had a tumultuous relationship, with Yeater getting physically abusive at least one time. The celebrity website spoke to a mutual friend of the former couple, who said that after Terranova denied being the father of her child, she broke his car window "out of rage."
After returning later that day to work out a payment plan for the broken window, Yeater allegedly got physical, slapping Terranova three times in the face.
The couple had dated for four years, according to the NY Post, after meeting at a Las Vegas high school for students who have been expelled from other schools.
Regarding the paternity allegations against Bieber, Terranova, whose current girlfriend is pregnant, says he thinks Yeater is simply trying to cash in on a lie.
"I know it's not Justin Bieber," Terranova said. "She just wants money. It's a scam."
