Karrueche Tran Talks Work Ethic
Karrueche Tran does not want to be defined by her relationship status with Chris Brown, but for her work ethic.
Tran, the 26-year-old model who has been known for dating singer Chris Brown over the past three years, is starting to have a voice of her own in the media. Other than participating in interviews, modeling and working on a fashion line, Tran also recently hosted a pre-BET Awards special for the network recently.
Now, she is telling thejasminebrand.com that it feels good for people to see her outside of her famous 25-year-old boyfriend.

"It feels much better because before people had the perceptions of me based on media and what other people said and people nowadays can make up anything about you. It's nice– people are finally seeing me and my work ethic," Tran said. "I did take a break when I was with Chris but at the end of the day I am a hard worker and even before him I had two jobs. Now I'm focused on me and getting my stuff together."
For three years Tran, has been scrutinized by a number of people after she began dating Brown. The singer famously dated both Tran and singer Rihanna at the same time and publicly admitted it, resulting in VH1 referring to Tran as a music industry "side chick" earlier this year.
After she decided to speak out about it on social media, Tran revealed why she began to defend herself more publicly.
"I've been through a lot and I've been called a lot of names," Tran told Hip Hollywood previously. "I was just a little fed up and I just felt like I had something I should say about it. I said my piece, that's it. I'm not going to go bash VH1 or any of that."
