Kate Middleton and Prince William Attend Gala for Child Bereavement Charity
Kate Middleton and Prince William, now titled the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, attended a fundraiser for the 100 Women in Hedge Funds, a global organization which uses philanthropy and volunteer efforts to support those in need.
Prince William and Kate were the guests of honor at Thursday’s gala, which was specifically held to raise money for the Child Bereavement Charity, of which William is a patron.
The royal couple snapped photos with the 300 professional women who attended the gala, which ended up earning £675,000 for the Child Bereavement Charity.

“What you are both doing together to alleviate the suffering of children who have lost family members, and bereaved families who have experienced the tragedy of losing a child, is beyond praise,” William told the attendees at the beginning of the $1 million dinner, which took place at St. James’s Palace.
The Child Bereavement Charity offers support for families when a child dies or is bereaved.
Royal children William and brother Harry lost their mother, Princess Diana, in 1997 at ages 15 and 12 when she was fatally wounded in a car crash.
“Not a day goes by that I don’t think of Mummy,” William told the Daily Mail in 2009 when he chose to become a patron of The Child Bereavement Charity.
The couple was all smiles as they posed for pictures and chatted with guests. Middleton wore a floor length scarlet gown while Prince William wore a black tuxedo.
Kate Middleton has been compared to the late Princess Diana due to her loving, warm disposition and position as a public figure.
Rumor has it that Kate Middleton has been secretly attending charity meetings in order to choose the charities she plans to endorse.
Kate married Prince William on April 29 at a highly publicized marriage in Westminster Abbey, London. The two met in 2003 while attending university.
