Kate Upton's Engagement Ring May Have Cost Justin Verlander Close to $1.5 Million, Jewelry Expert Says
On Monday, Kate Upton debuted her massive engagement ring that caused a stir among cameramen as they all tried to get a closer look at the stunning bling. Amid all the excitement, a jewelry analyst says it might have cost Justin Verlander more than a million dollars.
Vice president of marketing for Ritani, Mark Keeney tells U.S. Weekly, that the 8-carat diamond "set in a six prong setting with even more diamonds throughout" could possibly have cost around $1.5 million.
The couple have not said anything about how much the stone exactly costs but fans are speculating that it cost Verlander a fortune.

During Monday's event, Upton told E! News that her sporty fiancé proposed to her some time ago and she's glad to finally be able to share the good news. "I'm really excited, he asked me right before season started so we've been keeping it on the down low for quite a while. So I'm excited to finally be able to share it with the world," the supermodel said.
Upton went on to share that she and Verlander aren't really running towards the altar as they are just "enjoying the engagement period." Earlier in March, Upton told the outlet that there's no recipe for being in a relationship with Verlander for three years except for "communication."
Meanwhile, The Detroit News reports that Upton has been joining the Tigers pitcher over the past weeks for several events including one at the Marchant Stadium in Florida. The couple sponsored the gathering to advocate for dog adoption.
Despite their busy careers, with Verlander recently securing the spot as the Detroit Tigers' longest tenured player, and Upton keeping up with her modeling gigs, the pair continue to share memories together through attending public events and raising up each other in interviews.
Verlander, 33, is dubbed the most celebrated right-handed pitcher in his team, while Upton, 23, is famous for her modeling stints including her work with Vogue and Sports Illustrated.
