In September reports claimed the private couple had secretly wed, but Rowland was quick to shut down the rumors. She opened up about her desire to settle down.

"I don't know. Too busy with the career," Rowland told E!'s Terrence Jenkins in September about why she is not yet married with kids. "I do want kids, I do want to be married. But, I want one kid."

In April Rowland revealed that she is not ready for children despite watching many of her friends, including Beyonce and Kim Kardashian, experience the joys of pregnancy.

"I truly believe that when it's my time to be married and have a child I will. Because in all honestly, I'm still selfish. I like my life the way it is," she told Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club.

"I'm not ready ... I can be very honest. Because right now, I'm a bit selfish, a lot – I was gonna say a little – but I'm still selfish. I like my time, I like to wake up whenever I want to and I like to come and go as I please," she explained. "I don't know if I'm ready to share that time with another person, I don't wanna mess them up."

In June Rowland released her fourth studio album Talk a Good Game, which debuted at no. 4 on the Billboard charts.
