Kim Kardashian Divorces Before Vera Wang Wedding Dress Arrives at David's Bridal (PHOTO)
David's Bridal and Vera Wang had inked a deal with Kim Kardashian to sell an "affordable" version of the famous wedding dress the reality television starlet wore during her now infamous wedding, but who could have predicted that the marriage would be over before dresses arrived in stores?
The dress, designed as the White by Vera Wang, was to be recreated and sold with an affordable price tag for everyday consumers. lt was reported that the dresses will arrive in David's Bridal locations in February.
The design features a "Kardashian-inspired tulle ball gown with Chantilly lace, and a georgette mermaid gown with draped straps," according to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ). The Journal reports that the dress will retail for $1,500.
After announcing just 72 days after tying the knot that she was seeking a divorce, it is difficult to say if women will be flocking to David's Bridal in droves to get a hold of the White by Vera Wang for their own fairy-tale weddings.
Who could have possibly predicted, as the WSJ points out, that Kardashian would have been divorcing before her dress would arrive in stores?
The star-studded wedding aired on Kardashian's reality TV show "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" and her desire for a divorce was apparently a surprise to newly-married basketball star Kris Humphries.
"I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever but sometimes things don’t work out as planned," Kardashian said in a statement last week.
TMZ also reported Sunday that, according to sources close to Kardashian and Humprhies, the reality TV show star would have to pay her ex-husband for the 20.5 carat diamond engagement ring if she desires to keep.
It was reportedly Kardashian who included a clause in their pre-nuptial agreement that would allow her to buy the ring from Humprhies for its original price, according to TMZ, which states that the ring is valued at about $2 million.
