Lamar Odom Condition Latest Update: Reality TV and Basketball Star Leaves LA Hospital
Ex-NBA player and reality TV star Lamar Odom has been staying in an LA hospital since October last year after nearly getting killed by a drug and/or alcohol-related overdose while staying at a popular Nevada brothel. But according to a statement released by his family, the former Lakers forward already left the hospital and has been transferred to a private facility.
This should be looked upon as positive news for everyone concerned about Odom's recovery since in most cases, patients who opt to continue their recovery at home or any place outside hospital facilities are already confident of their progress. But in this case, there actually was no update provided by the family or the staff at the hospital with regard to his present condition. The latest news to have come out in the open is when his estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, revealed that her husband was finally walking on his own.
It is good to hear that 2011 Sixth Man of the Year has made progress over the course of three months, with his son even posting a photo of him flashing a smile. The 36-year-old may have reached the lowest point of his life with the reported overdose of drugs and alcohol, but his near-death experience also has generated tons of support from friends, family, and the NBA community.
Odom is no stranger to drug use, though, having experienced all sorts of misfortunes and tragedies related to him using illegal drugs. However, that didn't stop him from attaining success in professional basketball. As a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, he won two championships in 2009 and 2010. As a player, he is known for his versatility, having the ability to play multiple positions; from small forward to center.
His popularity skyrocketed in 2009 when he married one of the Kardashian daughters, Khloe. He then went to make regular appearances on the reality TV hit series "Keeping Up With the Kardashians." The couple went through divorcee proceedings that Khloe filed in 2013 but was temporarily halted following Odom's overdose accident. It was later revealed that a petition to dismiss the divorce has been filed.
