Lamar Odom Condition News Update: Son Posts First Photo of His Father Since the Overdose

It's been awhile since news about Lamar Odom surfaced. And this time, it is good to hear there is something positive coming out of the hospital where he is still confined for recovery and rehabilitation. The good news came in a form of a photo that was posted on Instagram, showing Odom and his son with the former showing a smile.

Although the actual Instagram account of Odom is locked, the photo that was posted on Thursday was quickly shared by several news outlets in the United States, including the US Weekly and the Washington Post.

The photo's caption reads: "Christmas with my pops. Here's to 2016. Blessed."

Odom's unfortunate fate at a Nevada brothel, where he was found unconscious and barely alive nearly three months ago, has been covered by the media to the fullest extent. But as soon as doctors succeeded in stabilizing him and saving his life, most of the rumors that came out publications were untrue, hearsays, and made-up stories, most of which were talking about how bad his condition was and that he won't be making a recovery.

The photo tells another story, though.

It shows that the former Los Angeles Lakers star forward is in fact doing great in his recovery phase. Several reports are even saying that he already is taking a few steps on his own and without the aid of a walker. Although progress has been slow, the most important thing is there is one.

Even at this point when he seemed to have defied the odds, both his close friends and family are still very much concerned that the reality TV star will no longer live a normal life. It's a valid concern knowing the fact that he almost died and had to endure multiple surgeries to repair what's broken, including his brain.

But still, the photo should be encouraging for those who are still worried about the basketball star's condition. It says a lot more than what news outlets and the press is saying.
