'Law and Order: SVU' Season 17 Episode 13 Spoilers: Benson Tackles Complicated Rape Case; NBC Greenlights Season 18
NBC's hit police procedural drama TV series "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" Season 17 returns this week with a brand new episode that will find Lt. Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and her team dealing with a rather complicated rape case. Meanwhile, the long-running show has just received a renewal.
According to the synopsis shared over at The Futon Critic for the episode titled "Forty-One Witnesses," an incident occurs where a woman, who was being followed back to her home, is raped just outside her building. What makes it very frustrating for the investigators, including Olivia and her NYPD squad, is the fact that the neighbors won't cooperate and refused to spill details about the sexual attack.
The promo video posted on YouTube for the episode showed someone getting assaulted by a group of men outside an apartment building. The assault apparently happened in plain sight and it would be hard for people in the vicinity to miss the ruckus. However, when the SVU team came to investigate, all of the neighbors seemed to say the same thing: "I didn't see anything."

Benson knows all too well that with a "hundred windows up there, somebody saw something."
Speculations were rife that the perpetrators could be members of the city's law enforcement, maybe goons of someone with a high-ranking position in government, or people with power.
The episode will feature the acts of "Hamilton" stars Daveed Diggs and Anthony Ramos. The former will reportedly reprise his role as defense counsel Louise Henderson while the latter portrays the alleged rapist.
Meanwhile, great news has arrived for the show. According to TVLine, NBC has renewed the series for another season, its 18th to be exact. The other Dick Wolf-produced show, "Chicago Med," is also getting a renewal.
