'Law & Order: SVU' Season 17 Episode 15 Spoilers: SVU Catches An Online Pedophile Ring
NBC's hit police procedural drama TV series "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" Season 17 has been known for featuring storylines that are based on real-life, headline news events. This week, it will once again bring out another action-packed episode titled "Collateral Damages."
The synopsis for the upcoming episode posted over at The Futon Critic talks about an undercover sting operation which successfully pins down an online pedophile ring. The bust leads to the arrest of two high-profile suspects. But the issue doesn't end there. Apparently, there's more to the case than what Lt. Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and her squad initially find.
The promo video for the segment teases of a tragic fallout that awaits Benson and the entirety of SVU. The clip opens up with a scene showing the operatives breaking into a house of what is thought to be the perpetrator's den.
It seems that the raid was successful but delving deeper into the case leads them to discover more shocking information. In one scene, a member of the press blatantly asked a woman if her husband was a pedophile.
The video voiceover then reveals that the shocking case will find its way back to the SVU. This becomes clear when Det. Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish) discovers something on her computer. Benson can also be seen asking someone, "Is there something I need to know?" The tone of her voice and the way she asked the question suggests that she knows the person in question firsthand.
The highlight reel closes with Carisi (Peter Scanavino) accusing someone of "distributing child pornography."
It would be interesting to find out how these events play out as crimes against children are unforgivable and given that one of the SVU members is possibly involved in the case, viewers will want to know who it is.
"Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" Season 17 Episode 15 "Collateral Damages" premieres this Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 9 p.m. on NBC.
