Leiby Kletzky Killer Claims He Hears Voices in Head

Levy Aron, the confessed murderer of 8-year-old Leiby Kletzky, has been ordered to receive a psychiatric evaluation after his lawyer informed the judge that his client "hears voices."

Aron pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and kidnapping, and he is currently being held without bail and has been placed on suicide watch.

"He has indicated to me that he hears voices and has had some hallucinations," said attorney Pierre Bazile according to CBS news.

Aron, who looked unkempt and pale during his arraignment Thursday, looked down and was silent throughout the whole proceedings.

"I'm very concerned for his well-being," Bazile said.

Video surveillance has been released that captures the moment of Kletzky and Aron meeting while Kletzky’s mother searched for him frantically just a few blocks away.

Officials continue to be puzzled on the spontaneity and amount of brutality the case involves.

"It defies all logic and I think that's what's been so terribly disturbing about this case…There's absolutely no reason. There's nothing more innocent than an 8-year-old child and to be killed in this matter is just heart breaking," Police Commissioner Ray Kelley tells WCBS.

Police report that Aron confessed to suffocating the boy with a bath towel after being frightened by the knowledge of a massive search being conducted for the boy in Borough Park, Brooklyn.

The boy was laid to rest Wednesday in front of thousands who came to mourn the loss and support Kletzky’s family.
