LG to Launch Cloud Service for Smartphones, TVs and PCs
Electronics manufacturer LG will launch its very own cloud service this week that will allow users to access media content on smartphones, TVs and PCs, according to a statement made by the company today.
In order for customers to acquire the service, they must download the LG Cloud App that will be available for Android devices in the Google Play store.
It can also be accessed from the LG SmartWorld app store that can be found on LG devices. The necessary app for an LG TV can be found within the SmartWorld store. The app for PCs and laptops can be found on LG's website.

LG's cloud service is similar to most cloud services as it synchronizes smartphone content with the cloud server and the owner's PC and TV. Any photos or videos on the smartphone can be viewed and streamed on the owner's PC or TV instantaneously, according to LG.
The company also stated that the same can be said about content edited on a PC and how it can be uploaded to the cloud and viewed with the owner's smartphone of TV within a matter of seconds.
LG promises that there will be very little lag time or waiting once content is streamed to a TV, PC or smartphone. The company prides itself on its cloud systems efficiency and claims it will feature better performance than other cloud services that are currently available.
"The challenge is how LG will differentiate its cloud offering from everyone else working aggressively in this space, whether it is Samsung's Allshare, Apple with iCloud or other third party cloud providers," said Ben Wood, director of research at CCS insight to PC World.
The LG Cloud will be both a free and paid for service. The company will announce its free storage policy in the near future along with revealing the price for its paid-for service.
