Liberty Ross Divorce: Actress Wants Joint Child Custody After Kristen Stewart Affair

Liberty Ross recently filed for divorce from her husband of 15 years, Rupert Sanders, and the actress has reportedly requested joint custody of their two children.

In a divorce petition citing "irreconcilable differences," the actress, whose 41-year-old husband was previously caught in an affair scandal with "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart, has asked for joint physical and legal custody of the couple's two children. They could share daughter Skyla, 8, and 6-year-old son Tennyson, according to Daily Mail.

The filing comes six months after Sanders, who directed Stewart's latest film "Snow White and the Huntsman," was photographed intimately hugging and kissing the 22-year-old actress during a public outing.

Stewart, who has been dating actor Rob Pattinson for three years, almost immediately confessed to cheating with Sanders after the intimate photos were published by Us magazine.

"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry," Stewart said in a public statement.

Pattinson, 26, briefly cut ties with Stewart over the scandal although they have reportedly since mended their relationship. A new report claims Stewart, who was allegedly distraught when her tryst was exposed, is refusing to discuss the affair.

"She hasn't mentioned anything about Liberty and Rupert getting divorced. She never ever mentions his name, and her friends know not to bring up his name, especially out of respect for Rob. But I am sure she feels terrible," a friend of Stewart's told HollywoodLife.com after Ross' divorce filing.

Sanders is said to be devastated by the divorce filing as it was previously claimed that he was clinging to the hope of a reconciliation.

"Rupert is willing to do absolutely anything and everything he can to save his marriage, he realizes this is the worst mistake of his life, and he cannot believe he was so stupid," a source previously told RadarOnline.com. "The thought of losing his wife and children, who he loves more than anything in the world, is killing him."
