Limbaugh 'Ashamed of My Country' (VIDEO)

Rush Limbaugh has issued a strong statement about the United States; during his radio program, Limbaugh admitted that he is "ashamed" of his country for numerous reasons.

"Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time in my life, I am ashamed of my country. Seriously man, here we get worked up over $44 billion. That's the total amount of money that will not be spent that was scheduled to be spent this year. In truth, we're going to spend more this year than we spent last year. We're just not going to spend as much as projected," Limbaugh said.

However, MSNBC host Joe Scarborough has said that Limbaugh's comments are not good for the Republican Party and only cause people to be turned off to politics in general.

"Since Rush Limbaugh went on the air and became a national figure, Republicans have lost five out of the six presidential elections in the popular vote," Scarborough said on "Morning Joe."

"Here they come sucking us in, roping us in, panic here, fear there, crisis, destruction, no meat inspection, no cops, no teachers, no firefighters, no air traffic control… I'm sorry. My days of getting roped into all of this are over," Limbaugh added. "We have the media play along with all of this, the ruling class of both parties play along all of this – it's insulting. I don't know how else to describe it."

His comments come as the Obama administration and Congress are working to avert sequestration, the automatic $1.2 trillion in federal spending cuts that will kick in on March 1 if no agreement to a financial budget is reached. Both groups are adamant about averting the sequestration, but the clock is still ticking closer and closer to March 1.

"Nothing ever changes," Limbaugh reasoned. "We just keep spending more money. We create more dependency. We get more and more irresponsible, one crisis to the next – all of them manufactured, except for the real crisis nobody ever addresses, which is [that] we can't afford any of this."
