Lindsay Lohan, Tanning Salon in $41,000 Dispute

Lindsay Lohan allegedly owes a tanning salon over $40,000 and still has not paid the bill, even after a judge ordered her to nine months ago. It is the latest event in the star's legal history.

In November, Tanning Vegas filed a suit in Nevada, claiming that Lohan had hired the company to cater to the star's tanning needs. Tanning Vegas' owner, Lorit Simon, told the court that Lohan owes $41,031.60 in unpaid charges.

A judge ordered her to pay the money immediately, but Lohan has yet to do so.

Now Simon is taking the case to Lohan's home state of California in an attempt to reclaim the lost money. She has petitioned the court to garnish Lohan's wages until the full amount has been paid.

Lohan is set to begin work on the new Lifetime movie "Liz & Dick," in which she will play Elizabeth Taylor.

Another suit against Lohan was recently closed, as a member of the Betty Ford Clinic staff alleges that Lohan physically assaulted her after refusing to take a Breathalyzer test. Dawn Holland stated that Lohan was intoxicated, which led to an incident in which Lohan grabbed her wrist, "twisting and pulling it for eight to 10 seconds."

The case was closed for an undisclosed amount of money.

Lohan has not commented on the lawsuit but is instead focused on her new film. The role of Elizabeth Taylor is a chance for Lohan to restart her career after years on probation and legal troubles stemming from drunk driving, drugs, and alleged theft.

The decision to cast Lohan in the iconic role of Elizabeth Taylor has not set well with everyone. Rosie O'Donnell was one of the first to come out and criticize Lifetime's choice.

"I feel very sorry for her. I think she needs a lot of time away. She's had a lot of trouble doing every single movie, including 'SNL.' She was out and not in rehearsal. I think she's not in a place to work," said the former talk show host.

It was rumored that Lohan was unhappy about the final three candidates to play the role of her leading man, Richard Burton. Sean Maguire, Craig Robert Young, and Matthew Settle were originally auditioned for the role, but "Lindsay declared that none of the actors were the right fit," a production insider told RadarOnline.com.

Grant Bowler has won the role, after coming in as an outsider, it was revealed on Friday. Bowler currently stars on HBO's hit "True Blood" and was a cast member of ABC's now-canceled "GCB." Filming for "Liz & Dick" will begin in June.
