'Longmire' Season 5 News, Update: Show to Begin Production Next Month; Vic-Walt Romance Put in the Spotlight?

There's already a handful of months that have passed since Netflix confirmed that the hit western action drama series "Longmire" will be getting a fifth season. Fans who have been keeping tabs on any fresh updates regarding the anticipated new installment may find it quite disheartening to go online as there isn't much new information shared by the web streaming service about the show.

However, one of the show's main cast members, Lou Diamond Phillips, recently dropped a big bombshell on his social media.

In a Twitter conversation, the actor, who plays the role of Henry Standing Bear in the series, revealed that they will begin filming season 5 sometime in March.

The mentioned production date led a number of media outlets to believe that the next chapter of the show will be ready for binge-watching this coming September.

Christian Today wrote that season 5 might follow the release date of the previous seasons that falls on the aforementioned month. Taking the case of season 4, the show began filming in late March of last year and rolled out the entire brand-new episodes by September of last year.

Meanwhile, a report from Master Herald hinted that fans who have been closely following the Vic (Katee Sackhoff) and Walt (Robert Taylor) romantic storyline might finally see it fully bloom in the upcoming season. The publication pointed out that even though Vic is still trying to repair her relationship with her husband, the sheriff might still pursue his intentions with the detective.

Walt is currently working in a sideline with Dr. Donna Monaghan (Ally Walker). However, there are speculations that their romance won't be that long given the fact that in the books by Craig Johnson to which the show was based from, it was Vic and Walt who ended up together. This is, of course, if the show won't divert from the source material.

Stay tuned for more updates.
