Los Angeles Clippers Injury Rumors: Blake Griffin's Return is Delayed until April

It looks like Los Angeles Clippers star forward Blake Griffin will have to wait another month before he could return to basketball action. After suffering from a couple of injuries in December and January, the former All-Star was expected to be sidelined for eight weeks. However, that seems to be no longer the case.

The most realistic time for him to return is sometime in April and the reason for the delay is because the injury he suffered in December (partially torn quadriceps) hasn't been healing the way the team previously anticipated.

But there have been rumors that the team already knew about it and they simply didn't release the information to the public in the hope that the superstar forward could return earlier than expected. Perhaps the only good news that's coming out right now is that an individual who requested anonymity revealed that 27-year old is already increasing the intensity in his workouts and may surprise everyone with an early return.

Once he is declared fit to return, another setback awaits him though. The team handed out a four-game suspension to their star player; a forced response for a fighting incident with one of their own equipment staff.

Quite interestingly though, the Clippers have been playing great without him. According to Fox Sports, they've compiled a 25-11 record so far, suggesting that they might be able to get a hold of a playoff spot even if he fails to catch up for the remaining games of the regular season.

While the rest of the team have been doing a superb job collecting wins, everything becomes a whole new ballgame in the playoffs. They belong in a conference where they're expected to meet the likes of the Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs. Without Griffin manning the paint, it's just too difficult to win a series against either of those teams.
