'Luke Cage' News: Rosario Dawson's Claire Temple To Play A 'Significant Part' In This Side Of Marvel Universe

Netflix and Marvel have been gearing up in preparation for the release of its latest small screen offering "Luke Cage." Mike Colter, who plays the titular character, dished out a handful of information about the show. He particularly pointed out how Rosario Dawson's alter-ego, Claire Temple, will play a great part in this side of the Marvel Universe.

In the comics and in the TV adaptation, Temple is a nurse who happens to get acquainted with the superheroes in Hell's Kitchen. For those who missed it, the character first appeared in the Charlie Cox-led series "Daredevil." She had also made her presence towards the end of the recently-released Krysten Ritter-starred show "Jessica Jones."

In "Luke Cage," meanwhile, Colter teased how the healer got to play a "significant part" in the story. He further dished out the circumstances which led the two to meet.

According to the actor, the upcoming drama will take place uptown and will have a different backdrop.

"How they get her uptown will be very unique, and you'll see it makes sense," he said during the Television Critics Association press tour and as quoted over at IGN.com.

"It's seamless. We're in the same city. She knows of me, obviously, from a personal standpoint, but it'll be interesting to see because she will deal with me in a different way than she dealt with Matt Murdock," Colter said.

"She's going to serve a very significant part of the Luke Cage story. Not overwhelmingly so, but you will definitely be satisfied with the amount of screen time you see. ..." he went on to confirm.

Colter further disclosed that viewers will often find Luke in a difficult spot and the person who will be there for him is Claire.

"She's definitely going to be someone that's going to have a large storyline and help out a lot."

The plot for the Luke Cage story, as previously shared by Marvel, speaks about an experiment that has gone wrong. The accident, however, brought Luke super strength and unbreakable skin which he now uses to fight crime.

"Luke Cage" is slated to premiere later in 2016. Fans of Claire Temple, meanwhile, will get to see her in action in "Daredevil" Season 2 which airs on March 18.
