"Mad Men" returns to AMC this Sunday with a brand new episode entitled "Waterloo" as part one of season seven nears its finale.

The hit AMC television series is currently in its final season with the second part of season set to air next April. Jon Hamm, who stars on Don Draper on "Mad Men," recently discussed the highly-anticipated finale. Although the cast is sworn to secrecy and "Mad Men" creator Matthew Weiner keeps the storyline unwaveringly clandestine, Hamm cryptically referred to the finale as "tricky."

"It's been a big, big, big part of my life, I've got a lot of really good friends in the cast and crew. It's going to be tricky," the actor told the Huffington Post when asked about the dramatic series drawing to a close.

While Hamm was referring to his own mixed emotions on the television series ending, his comments could hint on the content on the series finale since Weiner recently revealed that Hamm has been told how the series will ultimately end. This comes as a surprise since fellow "Mad Men" star John Slattery recently admitted that he is often in the dark about the storyline on the show.

Hamm continued to explain his feelings, saying, "I'm not going to say I wish it wouldn't end, because everything has to end, but it is what it is. We're going to have an emotional journey once we wrap it up. We'll walk away and lock the door."

In a recent interview with AMC, Weiner talked about writing the final episodes of the series, admitting he had known about the ending for quite a while.

"Every season, I come in, and I know basically what the last images of the show are going to be of each season… But the process that I don't reveal is that when I get to the finale, I usually don't want to do it anymore," the writer explained. "Like you want to fire Don, really? Better wants to divorce Don, really? You want to leave Sterling Cooper and start a new agency? You want Pete and Trudy to end in shambles? It's pretty scary trying to commit those things. I usually start to try to back out of it, obviously, and I get talked into doing it again."

Weiner also provided clues for season as a whole.

"There are consequences to what happened last season, that's all I can say," he said.

"Mad Men" airs on AMC Sundays at 10 p.m. EST.
