Maddie Ziegler News: Young Dancer as a Judge on New Dance Competition
Fans will get to see more of the young dancer Maddie Ziegler despite her exit from the hit reality series "Dance Moms."
It was recently announced that Maddie Ziegler will be involved in several projects in the coming year now that she is free from her role on "Dance Moms." It seems as though the young star is already enjoying her freedom, since she was seen making an appearance during the "American Idol" finale.
The young dancer was seen in a silver dress, along side David Mazouz from "Gotham." However, it was announced that this will not be the only TV competition that Ziegler will be part of. It was confirmed that she will be taking part in the upcoming series "So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation."

Reports revealed that Ziegler will pose as one of the judges for the dance competition. She will be joining Nigel Lythgoe, Paula Abdul, and Jason Derulo in the judge panel. Her involvement is seemingly fit for the new series since it is expected to showcase young dancers, ages 8-13. The young dancers will be taking on several dance styles such as contemporary, tap, hip hop, ballroom, and breaking.
According to TV Line, the executive producer of the series Jeff Thacker expressed his excitement towards the upcoming series. He said, "I think you'll find that these kids that are coming between 8 to 13, they've been training for 10 years since the show's been on. So that's the talent we're looking for. … I just think that the caliber of these 8 to 13-year-olds are amazing."
Lythgoe also revealed his impression of the young dancers. He expressed, "I think the technique is incredible. What we're gonna watch from them now is that their performances are good, that they understand the music that they're dancing to, that they draw upon the little experience that they've had."
"So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation" premieres on May 30th.
